KNOWLEDGE BASE

Thyroid Education

What Is the Thyroid?

The thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located at the front of the neck that produces hormones which regulate the body’s metabolism. These hormones influence how the body uses energy, affecting functions such as heart rate, temperature, and overall growth and development.

Common Thyroid Disorders

Thyroid disorders occur when the gland produces too much or too little hormone, disrupting the body’s normal balance. Common conditions include hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and thyroid nodules, each affecting the body in different ways.
